The BBC TV show, "The Avengers" featured a pair of British secret agents. John Steed and his female partner.
The first one was Mrs. Emma Peel. She and Steed never hooked up.
The second was Tara King. I don't know if they ever did but I know they were romantic toward each other where Steed & Peel OBVIOUSLY felt something for each other but it was very adult and quite complex. Complicated by the fact that they had saved each other's lives so many times maybe.
As sexy and sultry looking as Mrs. Peel was in her Cat suit, I must give it to King, who is beautiful, indeed!
Which one would you marry?
Which one would you want as a side-kick?
Vote as you wish but tell me if you voted for either one as a potential partner or mate.

Actually there was one before Emma called Cathy Gale and played by Honor Blackman. This was also the SECOND series featuring Steed, the first being a more conventional crime drama. I didn't know about the fact that there were actually FOUR Steed-based "Avengers" series besides the Steed/Peel series until I started looking up who Steed's first female sidekick was. I found The Avengers Forever to be remarkably informative! Wow! The BBC was even stranger than I had thought!
Anyway, Emma kicks @ss both literally and figuratively. And I'll look at Diana Rigg any time.

If I join the APU organization may I put the initials, "APU" after my name on any foreign correspondence? How much are the dues? What are the privileges? If there are any tasks involved with being a member I'll have to re-think my request for membership.

Emma Peel was one of the first girls to turn me on before I even knew what being turned on was.
And let's not forget that Diana Rigg was the only Bond girl that James Bond married. Double bonus points for Diana Rigg right there.

The movie sucked but I'd take Uma Thurman over the others.

Quite right!
While we're at it, Honor Blackman (who ghporter tells us was John Steed's first FEMALE partner in the Avengers) played Pussy Galore in Goldfinger.

WOW! BBC America played the final Emma Peel episode yesterday, "Forget Me Knot." At the end Mrs. Peel's husband, Peter (who we all thought had perished in a Plane crash) was found alive after all these years and she bid Steed a fond farewell which actually made me believe there WAS some Hanky Panky between them.
We see her say goodbye to Steed then go downstairs to a Bently or a Rolls and a gentleman who from the back and at a distance has all of Steed's flair, manners, style and sartorial taste, down to the umbrella and bowler.
But as Peel is going downstairs she meets her successor, Tara King who is going up the stairs and Peel tells her, "he likes his tea stirred anti-clockwise..."
Nice.
By the way how is THAT for delayed gratification? Thirty five years or so to find out how things turned out for Mrs. Peel.
OK. Next I hope we'll FINALLY get some resolution to the JFK assassination questions!

I understand the others were before your time and your only emotional identification is for a contemporary so I won't try to deny you. But AT LEAST the wardrobe folks could have fashioned her leather catsuit out of GLOVE leather and I don't mean BASEBALL GLOVE!
Look at the texture of it. It HARDLY makes you feel comfortable looking at her and much less do you feel SHE'S comfortable wearing it. Then the CARTOONISH buckle is just too, too much. And speaking of too much, we won't mention her hips. Tarantino had the right idea turning her into a fitness frau for Kill Bill. Slimmed down and in shape she actually DOES somthing for me.
In the studio shot you posted of her portraying Mrs. Peel, I'm left un-stirred whether it be clockwise or anti.
I haven't seen the film and don't know that I ever will. I wouldn't make a GREAT effort not to see it, but if it was simply a matter of changing channels or politely saying , "no thanks" then I probably will never see it.
