Hey,

After listing to Job’s speech, he did bring up a good idea. Have you ever just dropped into a class? What do you think of the idea?

Sounds good to me, why be confined to a strict schedule of classes. You will not get a degree, but if you already have one or if you just want to broaden your knowledge, the drop in idea sounds pretty good. Especially, if you are really unsure of what you want to do.

So, would you drop in on a class? If you were a professor, would you allow people to drop in. What standards of conduct, if any, should be part of such an activity?

Seems like it would be pretty easy on a large lecture, but I dunno about a smaller class.

i used to do it. kinda tough not to do when you live in an ivy league town with nothing to do.

as long as you look the part, go right ahead. after a couple of discussions with the professors it became clear that the unwritten rule was that while attending the lectures was fine, but dropping in on the discussions was totally taboo. although, you might be more of a charmer than i am.

kinda insane to think that you could get 90% of an ivy league education (depending on the field) for free.

i when i was a student would do the same. there were a lot of gaps in my schedule and there are a lot of interesting classes out there that just didn't fit in my schedule.

i say go- you might just learn something
