What the hell? Tet's off his rocker, someone help him. He's posting movies in crazy languages.

I still think that new Geico commercial with the work out machine and they guy who says "You can do it!!" is funnier. Maybe because I can ****ing understand it.

CreepingDeth, that is part of the humour, that she doesn't understand what the delivery boy says (and then of course his "joke" doesn't work which is the funny thing of the ad).

And she is very good looking in that ad.

She can laugh about her image as "stupid brat", that's great. I like people who don't take themselves too seriously.

Not bad here, IMHO:

"Everything's so clear to me now: I'm the keeper of the cheese and you're the lemon merchant. Get it? And he knows it.
That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

I don't really get it. But I have a crappy speaker, and my German has gotten pretty dull. Could someone explain the joke?

It looked like the guy came to the door, and said: "Broetchen." and she just says "Thank-you"

I'm assuming the joke has to do with the overdub.

Almost - he said "Blödchen" because Asians very often cannot vocalize the "r" and say a "l" instead.......and "Blödchen" actually means something like "little dumb girl"...

No, he didn't - he said, "Blödchen."

Ahh.I was listening through a crappy speaker with the sound down too low. It just sounded like he had a weird accent or something.

I think he can say it correctly; he intentionally said it wrong. You see that at his proud smile (for having the idea to speak it with "asian" accent). Then his proud smile turns into anxious expectation of her reaction. Of course she doesn't understand him, just says "thank you", and he looks kind of disappointed that his joke didn't work.

The joke has nothing to do with what the overdubbing says.

I'll try again, but it's not too funny if you explain it.

He is an Asian looking delivery boy.
Asians often (allegedly) can not speak "r" and say "l" instead.
He delivers buns ("Brötchen") to Paris Hilton.
He has this great idea to pretend to have Asian accent and says "Blötchen" to Paris while delivering the buns. This sounds like "Blödchen" (little stupid girl).
He has this proud smile because of his idea and/or because he dared to say it.
While he awaits Paris' answer his proud smile turns into some anxious look.
Paris of course doesn't understand what he said and just says "Thank you".
Delivery boy is left disappointed. Of course his joke couldn't work since she could not understand him.

Actually it's pretty funny.

...and I believe that Paris still does have no idea that this commercial makes a joke about her intelligence...

Haha, I was thinking the same thing, otherwise why would you be in a commercial like that?

Verona Feldbusch - a semi-celebrity here - built her entire brief advertising career about her supposed lack of intelligence and disability to built proper sentences (she occasionally lapses into Bush-like grammar and word creation).

So back to the driving force : money... or fame. It's know Paris is a heat seeking missile when it comes to media attention. And in her case it would be about attention and fame, cause she has plenty money...

Oh come on, sure she knows. She has the self-confidence to laugh about her own image. She's a great woman like that.

With you, I'm sometimes not sure if it's cynicism, optimism, or just plain naïveté.

Edit: I take it you've met her, then?
