I really love catamarans, one day I'll own one. Probably not a race-model but a cruiser, I'll probably be too old to have a race-model by then.
Congrats to your brother.

Thanks guys, really, I'm super proud, I used to race with him before I joined graduate school.
He skippers. They were a bit down after Athens 2004 were they end up only 8 when they really had some good chances. Anyhow, professional sports is that way, you do your best but you always understand than others can do better.
Yes, these boats are quite expensive, but you have to understand that this is the F1 of sailing. Nobody can jump on a tornado, is way too difficult and risky. These boats are capable of sailing faster than 30 knotts! Fernando started in optimist when he was around 8 and competed in many other boats before he started in olympic classes. It's been a very long way.
I though it was a good idea to share, I'm making a video that I'll post later.

By the way....
he used to be a PC guy, always using rhino and autocad for developing blocks, pools, sails and so on that he would later construct in carbon fiber and so on.
Last December he asked me for a 20" iMac fully loaded....
Now he uses windows remote desktop from his mac to do those things, he is more of a Mac fan than even myself. All his sponsor paperwork, presentations, photo, video editing is developed from his mac. He is happy. He got an iBook for traveling.
Even his crew got a new 12" PB a few months ago.
