Yep, the characters do indeed mean revolution, and are pronounced 'kakumei' in Japanese. No clue how they are pronounced in Chinese, though I'm sure one of the other members could fill us in on that.
Fine, I'll give another hint since nobody has guessed yet. My sig image has an anime character in the background, AND the first three letters of my old username are 'Sci'.

Hehe... well, IPA does make it look somewhat of a tongue twister. An easier way of describing it would be to say it's kind of like 'guhh-ming' in English, with your tone going upwards in the first tone, and sharply downwards in the second. The first syllable sort of rhymes (both in sound and tone) with 'huh?'; the second with 'thing' in sound, and with short imperatives (such as “Go!” or “Now!”) in tone.
