Wiki page.

In psychiatry, borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a personality disorder characterised by extreme 'black and white' thinking, mood swings, emotional reasoning, disrupted relationships and difficulty in functioning in a way society accepts as normal.

While a person with depression or bipolar disorder typically endures the same mood for weeks, a person with BPD may experience intense bouts of anger, depression and anxiety that may last only hours, or at most a day. These may be associated with episodes of impulsive aggression, self-injury including cutting, and drug or alcohol abuse. Distortions in cognition and sense of self can lead to frequent changes in long-term goals, career plans, jobs, friendships, gender identity, and values. Sometimes people with BPD view themselves as fundamentally bad, or unworthy. They may feel unfairly misunderstood or mistreated, bored, empty, and have little idea who they are. Such symptoms are most acute when people with BPD feel isolated and lacking in social support, and may result in frantic efforts to avoid being alone.

From what I've read, that can be a symptom in some.

Never heard of this before and looking at the symptoms, what I thought was "me just being me" might not be so. What I consider my normal behavior may be considered a medical problem by others.

Here I thought I was just being a tortured creative.

I did a google search for:"Self Bipolar Disorder Test", and found the following links that may be of some initial help for you. If you find that you think you may have BPD, then maybe see your family practitioner, and they may help you take this to the next level if necessary.

Some of the greatest creative minds in history, have suffered severe mood swings, and or could have been diagnosed with BPD. I think it is nothing to be ashamed of if you happen to be. My cousin had BPD, and one of my favorite talk show hosts in the world has BPD. "Jay 'the martian' Marvin" formerly on WLS-AM Radio Chicago.

My friend, who was once thought to be bipolar, instead was diagnosed with BPD. It can be devestating but it is treatable once diagnosed so she's doing okay. And she does get horny during the worst times.

My aunt also has a mild case of BPD, late onset after her husband of 20 years left her. This kind of trauma can trigger BPD in those that are vulnerable.

Yeah, I've heard of the trauma thing. I think that's what happened with a friend of mine.

Also it's interesting to see how BPD gets confused with bipolar (which it isn't) and depression (which it also isn't).
