I have a 15inch powerbook al. I couldn't get one of the screws out, but I managed to get the memory stick in. It didn't work.
anyway, the piece held together by 4 screws, is now a little bent because of that screw I couldn't get out and me being stupid and moving it to the side.
I was wondering if you can get replacement parts through apple or some store.
I live in New York. Would tekserve or digital society have extra parts like that?

Bring it in to the nearest Apple Store and have a Genius look at it. Did you buy the memory from them?
If you had, they probably would have put it in for free...
Do you have Apple Care?
Is it beyond your warrantee? It shouldn't be... Let them do it.

I don't think the Apple store carries replacement parts. They usually ship the PowerBooks out to Texas for cosmetic repairs. Your best bet is to look online. www.pbparts.com comes to mind.

Is this a cosmetic repair only? I misread then. Yes, in this case you are correct.

I bought it from http://www.digsoc.com. It's like a smaller mac store in NYC that had better RAM prices than Tekserve.
I just bought the computer a week ago and just got it today.
They do repairs under warranty. Are they obligated to fix my door or replace the part or parts if necessary?
Technically I messed it up, but the screw was impossible to get off because it was already worn out and nothing would turn it. I don't want to lie, but if I tell them the truth, is my mistake not covered under warranty.
I know if you drop it for instance, that's not really covered.
Am I better off just returning the ram and then trying to get it fixed someplace else?

If you break it, it's not warranty.
Cosmetic damage is generally not warranty, either.
And yes, the 17" Powerbook goes to 2GB.
