I'm a nerd. I admit it. I'm an out and proud nerd - and thus I hide well behind two things: my glasses and my laptop screen. My life is all digital as every proud nerd's is. Even my love life is. Dating I only do online, every few weeks I choose one of the many dating sites out there and register. I'm quite good at it by now, I register almost as fast as I write code!
But real comfortable I never felt on those, and now I know why: because they didn't integrate well enough into my digital lifestyle. I had to open browser windows, had to lengthily log in and click around to find out that there would be no-one interesting around. But then heaven sent me help: Apple's Dashboard Widgets and partnermine.com. That dating site finally blends perfectly into my digital daily life by providing me a Dashboard widget that always shows me the newest members of their site. So all I now do is press F11 to bring the dashboard layer to the front and check quickly that I'm disappointed for a purpose and there is really no-one for me. But on the plus side I now don't waste 5 minutes every time I look, but only 5 secconds. This little gimmick boosts my efficiency at being depressed and lonely by 6000%, now how much more can you ask for?! So I'm happy about the extra time I now have to enjoy my nerdy misery.
