I designed a shirt! Threadless.com is currently taking votes to see if it's awesome enough. If enough people vote for my shirt, then I win some cash! I could use the cash! I'd use it to end world hunger. Promise. Vote for me!!!

I don't hate capitalism. It's supposed to be ironic. If you don't like thinking then don't bother voting. I apologize for the inconvenience.

To quote the Red Hot Chili Peppers, "if you have to ask you'll never know."
If it's lost on you that's fine. Don't pretend you know me, though.

It'd be kinda cool if the vertical stripes formed a bar code of a secret/special number, or the UPC of a favorite beverage or snack....

It actually does, and it's explained if you click on the linked picture above.
http://www.threadless.com/submission/44839/Buy_American!
The barcode actually scans the word "BUY".

How would that be more cool than them forming the word "BUY"?

It's not more cool. Just more geeky. So geeky that hardly anyone will get it.
That's why I'm not too much into it. If it's such an insider thing, everyone will just be looking at the shirt and think "meh", "it's wrong" or "I don't get it". What's the point of that ?

It's not simply about capitalism. It's blind consumerism that sucks. It's about having a culture that relentlessly conveys a brand image to us everywhere we look. You should read Coercion.
(I voted for the tshirt, though I thought the graphics were too big, so 4/5)

What culture is that?
I actually go out of my way to buy non-branded stuff. Esp when I am advertising their logo for free.
No thanks. You want me to advertise your logo, you pay me.
BTW Axo1ot1 I gave you a 3. Not because of the politcal nature. But because the colors made my eyes scream.

Yes I did, I didn't read the whole thread before I posted. Shame on me.

I would vote, but can't be bothered to fill in the registration form.
Kinda cool idea though, but not American so don't see the appeal.
