I'm looking to drum up some support on a Mac wiki project - MacWiki.net.

It started as a solution to answering all those repetitive questions forums get. "Help! My mac doesn't work!" or "Does my Mac support large drives?" "STF!" is a common response - but lets face it, searching the forum isn't as useful as we'd like. Thats where we're starting from - answering the common questions - and we'll expand from there.

There isn't much there now, but we'll be collecting useful info rather quickly.

Hmm, why not make a Wiki that explains how to use resources like MacNN, Macfixit.com, Macosxhints.com etc. Otherwise, you'll be re-intening the wheel all over again...

i definitely plan to include that.

however, you're probbly more familiar with those particular resources, so go ahead and add it

really, it doesn't hurt!

Well, I just don't see the point of writing many tips over and over again.
Instead, in you case, I'd link to othe rresources.

The big question is: a n00b, who doesn't know who to use a search function in forums, how would he EVAR find a Wiki ?

Yeah, plus one this thread and lockinate. Party's over.

"SHUT IT DOWN!"
"Everything's so clear to me now: I'm the keeper of the cheese and you're the lemon merchant. Get it? And he knows it.
That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

the idea is to add some structure to the hints that are out there.

the mac wiki entries will be indexed by google. further, the wiki entries can be helpful replacements for "STF!" responses - instead post a link to the appropriate article.
