Within a few hours, I'm off to Central America.

I'm dreading not checking my email, my music, photos... everything!!! and weirdly, the lounge, I'll be in the mountains.

all I have is one novel and my palm with a key board... I can feel the withdraws already. Maybe I should take a change of underwear... we'll see.

lots of conversations go something like this:

"sure" "where are you from? i hear your accent"
"south africa"
". . ."

then sometimes the pause (when their brain is busy trying to work out where in africa *south* africa is) is followed by a whispered "but you're white?"

You'd be surprised what you can pick up from water. If possible, never ever ever ever drink water that you're unsure of. The last thing you want is to pick up something nasty and be in pain for a week.

I wrote this hug piece, funny too... really.

Anyway, stupid macnn server...it didn!t take it.

so in short, the 3rd world is not so third anymore... El Salvador is quite developed. And to E, yeah, the homeland is something to see, the memories gush forth.

I share the photos once I get back to the states... yeah, I did bring one finally. The ladies are really quite beautiful.

I'm back and I must say, El Salvador is quite developed.
I don't have pictures of the high rises or of the giant malls (which is another issue)...

the pictures I do have are of the people of the land and what I thought was important.

here are a few:

This is for all you eye candy folks. There are beautiful woman everywhere in this world. El Salvador is no exception.

It's not that I'm offended-- it was just weak.

I love getting up into the mountains. Once a year or so, I get far enough off the pavement in Mexico that electricity becomes a dim memory for a few days. It's good to clear the head out like that. I know one El Salvadoran, but he can't go back, like ever. Belize is coming up on my list of places to go, though.

but we digress. More pix! El Salvador, so far, reminds me of the little towns in Jalisco 20 years ago, before Mexico got more commericialized (up to the end of the pavement, anyway) I love me some jungle.

There was a guy named "TheRoadWarrior" that used to hang out on the MacMonkey and ihateapple.com's forums (I think he still hangs out at ihateapple.com as Count Olaf now) that used to brag about paying for young asian gals to have sex with him for cheap!

When someone started making fun of him for it, he started making excuses that "everyone pays for it"

Then denied the whole thing.

He to this day denies he ever even said it, and claims everyone that mentions it is a liar.

I think it is 16 but sadly, the authorities can only do so much to track under age sex.
In general, girls begin to have sex (from what I hear from my brother and friends) at the age of 13-14.

Having said that, I met one girl that had a kid at 13... she's now 18.
All the guys I met, their girl friends (these are girls besides their wives or partners) were on average 16.

By American standards this is soooo wrong. But over there... it is all too common, enough so that most people see it as normal.

Even my cousin at 23 (she is in the picture) feels that she is terribly old... to not be married and have kids!

Not that she will, she wants to finish her BA and start a career... but she is the exception and not the norm.

Anyway... here are more pics.

My town is in the middle of the picture. I love the winter season there. The summer, in December or so, is quite dry and not so green.

Five years ago, the internet was foreign word... now, my small town has a cyber cafe (crazy thing... all the machines are in dialop with Win XP... with the one on the right running with 96 megs or ram!!!!).

Here I am, pretending to do some work... posing really. The earth is so barren because the house is being used for a cow shed.

here are some more pics of females. Here, my friend is getting ready to go dancing to one of many night clubs in the city. The one we went to had a contingent of Americans studying abroad. With an outrages $8 dollars to get in.

No, but I seen her with her guy friends. That picture above was taken upon her request.

Edit: And lets be frank, how many of us have not thought about (what it would be like) to be with a relative that is hot. The thought occurs, but it's not like I would dwell on it or even proceed to fantasize about it or even do anything to realize it.

It's a genetic thing. The action taken is a conscious thing... and she remains family first.

My wife kept telling me to stop drooling when we were in the mall in San Pedro Sula. (Sewer)

They weren't so hawt up in the jungle in Copan though.

That's funny, my friend in the picture is Copan right now working. She's part of Engeneers without borders.

There are hot women everywhere... ah, at times it hurts to be man, but dam I'm glad to be one. There's simply so much beauty in the world.
