I have no idea how I missed this, as it's happening in my own back yard, so to speak...
No idea why they published two stories on the same day, but they have different pictures.
Story 1
Story 2
Wasilla, Alaska - From science-fiction movies to the technotronic cartoons, robots have fascinated people for years. That may be one reason why a Wasilla man has spent a lifetime dreaming of having his own.

After four years as a mechanic out of the 411th Engineer Battalion at Fort Richardson, Carlos Owens now spends his time designing what may soon be the world’s first fully operational bipedal robotic vehicle -- just don't call it a robot.
And now, you can own it!
eBay

Actually, I hope someone buys it so he can make another one. Seems like he's got a passion, not just your typical Alaska nutjob.

That's pretty rad. I might donate a little bit to him. It's awesome that instead of talking about it, or building models or collecting anime DVDs he's actually DOING something.

Yeah, I saw this on tech tv.

It's a cool idea, the only thing is, it's not fully working, as the video I saw didn't exactly look impressive.
