As everyone knows MacNN has been giving a lot of error messages and timing out.

tooki has been kind enough to tell us that the problem is the hardware

It's just not up to snuff to handle the huge load MacNN has.

Would anyone be willing to shell out any amount of money you wish A penny to whatever to help NN get a better server?

Or anyone have a faster one that they would donate?

I would be willing to give some money if it meant a error free surfing experience.

Yeah.. I was looking for a price range.

Demonhood said he wants to look into it in more detail.

To make POSITIVE it was hardware. tooki seems to think that is what it is.

Hey, here's an idea...sell "get out of jail" passes!!!

You could have a sweet little racket. When someone reaches a certain number of posts per hour or per day (showing they were REALLY addicted!) you can put them on an infraction watch.

Then, the smallest infraction (admin having a bad day or a mod feeling insecure or a complaint from another poster, whether bogus or not) will trigger their bannination from the PL. To be allowed back in will require the perp to serve a SPECIFIED time out period or they can BUY their way back in.

Problem solved. What's more, you'd get all kinds of publicity and new posters and hey, maybe added PROFIT!

For my suggestion I want a lifetime free pass.

i got an idea.

I say MacNN set up a server of Texas Hold'em and let us play for real $... i am sure many things could then be settled in a relatively civilized way, and MacNN gets commissions off the pot.

Neither. I got accepted to the design school I applied to, and I recieved a 10k a year scholarship!

School starts in august. Thanks for asking about me, it lets me know you care.
