I cannot begin to express my deepest sympathies to those who may have lost anyone or have been injured in the London blasts this morning. It is truly, yet another unnecessary tragedy cast upon unsuspecting and innocent victims.
Please keep this in mind during my next sentiment which is merely an observation.
I just heard about the news late in the day here as I was tied in meetings and traffic. When I finally got home this evening and watched all of the local & national news - one thing was glaring at me beyond my ability to ignore it.
Apple's iPod marketing ALL OVER THE PLACE. Apparently, they have a HUGE presence in public transportation here and abroad, so almost EVERY news story on-location showing a bus, a train, a bus stop, a train or subway station... a terminal - in Boston, in a report from California, on location in London... there were the saturated-pastel posters w/ black sillouetts on almost every shot SOMEWHERE in the background.
Obviously, this is a tragic coincidence that leads to additional exposure to Apple marketing materials... I was just truly amazed at how SATURATED and widespread their marketing WAS in the world of public transportation!!!
I hope they put similar efforts into their computer hardware again some day.
Ultimately - the more important hope is that this kind of senseless violence can stop some day. Here's to hoping! [ raises glass to toast ]
