Creative, but not really that difficult to do.

A 9.5* for creativity.
4 for difficulty
and a 2 for artistic ability.

1) The artwork is total crap (I was doodling that stuff back in 6th grade when I played D&D).
2) Not an original idea -- it's just a bunch of pics to pretend you're "zooming" through them.
3) The artwork is crap.

I don't htink it's that bad. Some of them are quite neat.

Check out this frame:

http://public.hbk-bs.de/~baumgarn//zoom/steps/20.jpg

Pretty creepy looking. No offense, but I'd like to see some examples of what you consider 'good animated internet art', so I can see your frame of reference.

Edit: I've also never seen a looping zoom in internet animation before. Care to post the one that came before this one?

If you were doodling that stuff in 6th grade, you must now make a decent living as an illustrator then.

LOL.

All you guys raging on this movie must be pretty good at Flash and at least somewhat talented illustrators.

I enjoyed it.

Woah. That screensaver rules. Set the image quality to extreme, and it looks incredible on my 20" cinema. Too bad it kinda stutters, but at least it stutters smoothly.

Sorry, NONE OF THOSE ARE ANIMATED.

Again, I'd like you to show me superior animated art, and another zooming piece, since you said that it's so unoriginal it must have been done before. I like that style so I'd like to see another one.

The web site pics weren't "animated", either. They drew a large picture, showed it, zoomed in, showed it, displayed the next larger picture, showed it, zoomed in, showed it, and so on. That was a series of individual images built/painted/drawn to look like they were all interconnected.

That's been done for years in all manner of medium, and no, I don't have any links. However, I'm sure that if you Google hard enough, you'll find some great examples from the late 60s and early 70s.

You need to make a fanboy image.

But seriously they haven't made fun of your old Kaleidoscope themes yet.

So you might want to hold off that image till then.

Holy crap, THAT was a LONG time ago. I remember when we beta tested KAL2 -- when we got away form having to use "standard" shape windows (The Bug was one of the first KAL2 schemes). Those were good times, man...
