I can empathize. Good luck.

You're in Japan, that's `wrong' with you. When I was there, I used to catch only 3-4 hours of sleep each night (usually I stayed up till 3-4 am). Don't know why. (Now I sleep really long hours each night, seems my body tries to catch all the sleep it was missing )

That's really weird--I'm having the exact same problem, but only for the past couple weeks. It's freaking me out.

The only cure I know of is to live somewhere else for a while.
I have no idea what causes this, the heat, the humidity, or just the life style … dunno

I take Lunesta. I'm 225lbs and 3mg puts me out like a light for 6 hours straight.

In the past two weeks I have changed my last name, I have made the decision to end my IT career, gave notice at work, I put my house up for sale and sold it, and am now considering where to live and what exactly I'll be doing with the rest of my life.

That means in a 12 month period I will have changed residences 3 times, separated and reconciled with my wife, had a brain tumor scare that "only" turned out to be pituitary failure, sold a house, ended a career, and changed my last name.

You bet your ass I'm not getting any sleep. I've taken up Buddhism just as a survival method.
Do you want forgiveness or respect?

Do something for others! seriously..consider doing some voluntary service or something..maybe a hospital? I dunno, thats a good way to feel good abvout yourself I think...and go from there. will help you sleep as well I think... btw, budda did something like that, but he renounced all the worldly pleasures after seeing all the misery and suffering in this earth and just started to think of something to get over it, and he founded a bunch of principles to live by peacefully. well thats my interpretation of it anyway...

or if you really realy wanna get rich again, start a religion which help others attain spirituality and peace through buying lots of new gizmos even if they cant afford it..
you will have me there for a few days...

This is a very interesting post. I think you and I would enjoy a beer together if the opportunity came up.

I also mentor a young boy in foster care on Saturdays. Been doing that for over a year, and volunteer work for about 8 years. It does help one keep perspective.

I have also recently bought 3 books on Buddhism. The last thing I want is to be rich. This go round the dirt mound I'm going in the opposite direction. I'm about to enter a new career in non-profit work of some kind. May get my Masters of Social Work.

It's good to know there are other aware people out there.

Keep your eyes bright and your heart smiling.
