I used to have a packet of oatmeal as a midmorning snack. It's kind of soothing, and when someone barges into your office and you're dipping out a spoonful of oatmeal from a styrofoam cup, they often grind to a screeching halt (?!? you're just getting breakfast?!?!) and rethink their particular rant. Very useful.
Now that I no longer have either an office or people barging in on me, I don't need the extra soothing, and I've run out of packets of oatmeal.
