Yah, granted it's not as bad as some of the stuff you have in Florida or anything like that... but we got 90 mm worth rain in 40 minutes. it was insane. I was actually camping with my youth group kids during the storm, a bit after midnight we left because you couldn't see much of anything because of the rain. I imagine we finally dropped off all the kids at around 2 am or so.
It was crazy, there are powerlines down all over, the streets were covered over the curbs with water, our basement flooded... yah... it's interesting here right now. At least we have power at my place

No doubt, I'm very glad the worst that happened was rain coming in through my window and soaking my mattress. As well as a bit of flooding. None of our kids got hurt that's the most important thing. Not to mention before the storm started the lightning around added cool effects to my very somber devotional/sermon/homily/talk I gave to the YG kids. I don't think many of them are gona forget it as easily as they could.

Ah talk about weather, I have not seen much of it the whole day. Been sitting cooped up in front of this machine trying to get some stupid calculations done for this tool design that god only knows how long it will be used for by my client.. oh well, i feel generally happy today than many other days though, the weather outside must be changing because I feel better overall, but tomorrow is another day.. and we shall see what happens.

Yep, we had a candle-light service this morning because the power was still out at the building. Pretty hard to preach to 200 people without a mic
-"I don't believe in God. "
"That doesn't matter. He believes in you."

-"I'm not agnostic. Just nonpartisan. Theological Switzerland, that's me."

Ouch. That would be very difficult. You really have to have everyone shut up... which is kinda good. I was preaching to our kids last night, about 20 of em (normally impossible to get to be quiet enough to hear a talk) and they were right silent it was great... something about a storm can shut people up

That said CH Spurgeon preached several thousands without a mic. Actually I have to wonder how many fewer crappy preachers we'd have if you had to be able to project... the best projectors I've met have also always been the best preachers in many cases. I think too many people get up to preach without conviction and thus just mumble and rely on the Mic. I think I actually might be able to pull off 200 people unmiced.

We just had a quick strong storm blow through. Hopefully it will relieve the high humidity we have been suffering with.
