OK with the release of the mini, does anyone else think Apple should consider making a cheap 15 inch display. Doesn't need to be as sexy as the 20-30 inchers or even the same style. But just a simple LCD with a minimalist design. Call it an iPanel or something. They could even double bill it as an LCD TV. Add an iPod connector and make it PC compatable and I imagine they could sell a whole lota em. As well they shouldn't charge em too much. They'd even make great secondary displays for people with PowerBooks and PowerMacs. What do you guys think?

Or just buy a cheap 17in CRT. You can get a nice one for rather cheap these days.

Yes but LCDs are becoming quite trendy these days. Even the ones that because of those stupid arms and stands they put them in are closer to the thickness of a CRT monitor when everything's considered. Seriously most 15 inch LCD panels take up at least 2/3rds the space that a CRT iMac does!

I guess it kind of depends on how much money you're willing to spend.

LCD still isn't up to par with CRTs as far as color consistency goes. IMHO.

What price point are you thinking these "cheap" LCD's would sell for exactly? $200?

A Good CRT will still be cheaper than a cheap LCD. And it will have a better picture.

I recommend this monitor to anyone.

You will love it.

It has a flat screen, just like a LCD, but has a better screen.
