Hi,

I'm trying to connect my phoneline into the line-in of my Powerbook so I can record the phoneline. Anyone know of a cheap product that does this and works well? I found this:

http://www.jacksmusicfactory.com/def...roductid=90165

But it costs $38-60 online, and that's too much for me, but is a perfect application. I like the RCA options as well.

Please let me know if you know any! Thanks!

That looks like a nice device but Radio Shack should have a cheaper alternative if that's what you're looking for.

Radioshack doesn't have what I need. They have 3 products, but they are for connecting to a cassette recorder and controlling them. I don't need that.

Why don't you just soldier the two pieces together?

There is some circuitry involved. I found lots of schematics on the net, but don't want to build it. For example, the minimum you need is an isolation transformer, or else you'll ill have big problems.

Try your hand at building one, they're not that hard. I built a "Mac2Tel" (google for it) way back when I was...14. Believe me, I had "limited" soldering skills, but it worked fine for either playing sounds into phone line, or, plug in headphones and listen away to your heart's content. Parts, if I remember rightly, were less than $10.

My name's ...uh... it's a bummer man.
