You can get gull wings on any car after market.

That wagon/truck is cool too.

i was once unfortunate enough to be given a kei car (that is, engine <660cc, cheap as chips to run, cheaper to register) while my suv was in getting serviced in japan. twas an adventure driving it around - total deathtrap, but surprisingly zippy and light as hell after my 3.whatever litre diesel...

not much good on expressways or in snow i imagine, but damn fine for hooning around town and doing donuts in the parking lot

Those aren't gullwings. Those are lambo style doors, that tilt forward. Gullwings require it to be hinged on the TOP of the door and swing upward.

If you are talking about the middle one I think it is called an S-Cargo, or something along those lines (a word play on its snail shape)

Around here I find a lot of florists use them because they have a high roof, have tonnes of space on the side for advertising and are not really required to shift heavy objects. Also they stick out like Jude Laws light saber.

On a good note, a friend of mine had his foot run over by a small Japanese car while in Japan. Didn't hurt him at all.

They're not so bad. I mean, besides being a death trap they get good mileage and are rather zippy.

It's odd that they are 15 years old before they can be sold.

The car with the funky doors is a Toyota Sera. They've got a lot of glass on them; almost the entire boot, a large portion of the top of the car (with a thin rib of roof), and the doors. Very cool.

You mean like a Subaru SVX?

The yellow one at the top is a Honda Beat, just to finish off the car naming on those 3 pics.

Here's another couple -

Suzuki Cappuccino

Mazda AZ-1

All very cool cars!

I snapped this in Italy this Spring. The car parked perpendicular to the others is only as long as a the rest are wide.
