What qualities are important for you in a good moderator?

I mean not just moderating a forum but it could be a group discussion as well in real life.

I would say the first one would be "sense of humor" and tact, IMHO.

What have you observed in your experience that should be reflected upon towards making one a good moderator? Just curious.

The ability to distinguish between a topic and posts in that topic as being related to said topic or not?
