I absolutely love the original. The trailer has some moments. I hope it's good. I have a feeling they're gonna tone it down so little kids can watch it.

Nothin' like seeing 8-year-olds tell a grownup to f*ck off. Very inspirational to youngsters.

I still get a kick from that movie.

It is pretty funny, actually. Billy Bob is awesome, and Greg Kinnear is really good as the over-competitive rival coach. The kids are kind of lame, but the leads make up for it.

Favorite line, Billy Bob yelling at a kid "I got half a mind to find your old man and kick him in the nuts so hard he could never foul the Earth with another little **** like you."

Other favorite line, delivered proudly "Oh, I haven't paid for sex in years."

I read this review and it turned me off a bit

it's after the wedding crashers.

Spoiler quote:

"And yes, I knew how the movie would end, mainly because I've seen it about 50 times -- only this time, the kid in the wheelchair catches the flyball (not Lupus), and the Armenian kid gets thrown out at home plate to lose the Yankees game (not Kelly). I'm telling you this because I never, ever, ever want you to pay money for this movie. And after the climactic game ended, and the Indian kid told the Yankees to shove the trophy -- as an aside, not giving Tanner that line would be like remaking "Hoosiers" and having Strap say "I love you guys" -- and the Bears were pouring nonalcoholic beer on one another (yes, nonalcoholic beer -- just kill me), that's when I stood up and stormed out of the theater. About an hour too late."

Wow, that dude must be the "#1 Fan!" of the original.

I think most (guys, at least) will like this version, as long as they haven't spent all 35 years of their life watching the original with their hand down their pants...
