I'll take a blond...with vacuum action.

Would it be cheating?

What about marriage?

Leave it to the Japanese...

Wake me up when they make the "Valerie 23" model.

Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.

I've never quite understood the fascination with making human-like robots. What's the point?

Sure, they're making great progress in appearances, but AI technology isn't anywhere near catching up. The smartest 'robots' out there today have about as much intelligence as a cricket, so who would want a companion that's lifelike and beautiful and responsive, but dumb as....

...hmmmm....uh, forget I said anything.

The android robot "industry" is one of the most useless industries out there. Companies spend millions of dollars on robots that nobody buys, and even if they do achieve their goal of making very lifelike robots, Honda and the rest will not want them to be sold as sex toys, and unions will never let them take over the jobs of real people.

Screw the unions. Once we have viable human-replacement androids we won't have any need to bow to their crap anyway.

Then we can use them to do all the jobs nobody wants to do. Then we can mistreat them. Then we can grow suspicious of them and start being violent towards them. Then they can retreat and form their own nation. Then they can compete with us on the global scale with superior technology and innovation. Then we can declare war on them. Then we can almost lose but blacken the sky with clouds to cut off their source of energy.

Then they can round us all up and use us for batteries. Then they can plug our brains up to a life-like simulation of our lives. Then...

I say we keep 'em dumb enough to use them as slave labor but smart enough to repair each other. That way there's no longer any need to have a underclass of humans and we can all be equal without reducing ourselves to the lowest common denominator. It'll be android-topia!

What about the warranty claims on a sex toy robot??

"I was giving my Jessica Alba 3000 android a good seeing to and went so hard its leg fell off, I want a refund."

Whats the chances of a Lucy Liu bot?

(Last edited by ajprice; Jul 29, 2005 at 04:49 AM. )
