I actually remember that bit from the original run of The Muppet Show. Wow!
Starman, I always thought Sesame Street stuff was pretty psychadelic. But after some training in child growth and development, it turns out that psychadelic stuff is the best way to keep a wee tot's attention. So parents get/got some cool graphics, and kids get/got to learn counting. A good deal both ways.
