With my recent purchase of an HDTV and HDTV service from Comcast, I found that I just don't have enough video and audio inputs for my equipment. That is, for component video input and digital audio input. I bought a component video input selector from Best Buy, which solves half the problem. But my speakers only have two digital inputs (one coaxial, one optical) and I need more. I've been searching but haven't found anything yet. Anyone know where I can find something like this? I don't know of any audio-specific forums out there either.

Please explain this a little bit more. I didn't quite follow your post.

Sounds like you need your speakers connected to an A/V amp - which would handle the switching of the audio and video sources.

Something like this:

What you need, is this:

http://www.smarthome.com/7772.html

4 component video INs, 4 digital/coaxial/stereo INs, 1 component video OUT, 1 digital/coacial/stereo OUT.

Plug all your component sources into the box, then output connection video to your tv and the output connection audio to either your coaxial or digital input.

Works great; had one in use for a while. It is for sale if you are interested.

Here is another one, but more expensive; but it is a standard a/v equipment width and not a goofy box like the one i have:

What you're looking for is a video and audio multiplexer (n inputs to 1 output).

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

Exactly, that is what the two links above are; specifically for component and digital/coaxial audio.

Those are waaaaay too expensive and do far more than I need. As I said, I took care of the video side of things. I was thinking the digital audio equivalent of this kind of thing.

Well, those devices I linked will do what you need one device, instead of one for audio and one for video the way you are going. Dealing with HD video and digital audio you will get what you pay for so if you are happy with a Best Buy solution, that is fine.

However, here is one just for audio:

And oh, if you want cheap; just a get a normal RCA Y adapter on your coax digital input, bam; you have two; just don't play both audio sources at once. $1.70 and you are done (if you just need to add one more).

Yeah, I've been building custom electronics as of late and have spent more time than I care to recall reading data sheets for MUXes and DEMUXes
