The integrated Cell processor will be able to support a variety of operating systems (such as Linux or Apple's Tiger).
Does this mean:
1: The PS3 will be able to run a variety of OS'es - (including OS X)
2: The PS3 has a Cell processor. The Cell processor as a component in a larger system can theoretically run various operating systems (assuming those OS'es were ported to it.) - Linux and Tiger are just examples of Operating Systems.
3: Nothing - some marketing droid with a degree in 'Media Studies' just crammed various semi-facts into a press release and made it sound as if the PS3 will be able to do anything!!!111

It seems consoles are going to get more and more complicated to the point that there is going to be very little difference between them and a desktop computer. Hmmm... maybe this is Microsoft's plan of attack all along. Yet another way to liscense another copy of Windows eh?

There is no way the PS3 will ship with a version of windows.
And about as much chance it'll ship with OSX.
That doesn't mean they won't run.

I didn't say that. I just said that they are getting more and more like desktop computer and possibly to the point that a visible OS will be involved. Eventualy. Maybe the PS8.
And if anything, Sony will use Windows over anything else.
