I just heard something that I find hard to believe (and I am at work and have no way of verifying). A guy I know claims that one of the best things to clean interior car glass with is with a good glass cleaner and newspaper instead of a towel or other cloth. Newspaper?
Anyone heard this. Perhaps I should send this one over to Mythbusters for their show?
Anyone actually do this?
What's your best technique for cleaning the interior of car windows?

Newspaper is brilliant. My mom taught the benefits of polishing windows with newspaper years ago. It results in a streak-free finish and apparently the ink acts as a window polish (according to a car detailing site).

Excellent! Thanks.
Anyone else do this? Or even heard of it?
On a side note, I used to use Rain-X on my exterior windows. Worked great, until I got a stone chip. My insurance co. offers free stone chip repair so I called them up and they sent a guy out to my home no less. He looked at it, said it was an easy fix, and went to work. A few minutes later he knocks on the door looking a little tense. He says, "By any chance do you use Rain-X?" I told him I did and as a matter of fact I put in on the moring before I got the stone chip. He then tells me that if he had known about that he would have use alcohol to remove the Rain-X, but since he didn't know that he just cleaned it normally and tried to patch the hole, but the patch compound wouldn't adhere properly because of the Rain-X. So be warned, if you are having a stone chip patched on your windshield tell the repair guy ahead of time so he knows ho to handle it.

newspaper doesnt lint up, which is why it's better than towels, which holds moisture unevenly and threads / lint / fuzzies come off onto the glass (which sucks).
that being said, buy a good newspaper ... and if you're political, buy a newspaper with a "slant" against the party you favor.
cheap newspaper / free newspapers / weeklies = ink comes off onto your hands, which means it comes off onto your glass.

Or have you been smoking too much pot or not taking enough of your meds? Or are you drunk this time?

I've been using News Papers for years on all kinds of Windows and Mirrors. It really is the best thing to use.

Jeff ******* says (9:19 AM): Eww, Ottawa is gross. It's infested with politicians, and presently, 1 Harper as well.

One of my "interests" manufactures lint-free cloth and distributes cleaning products to most of the local garages and car detailing places. So that's what I use.

Newspaper is great for both sides of the glass because the relatively hard fibers in the paper polish the glass really well. And since newsprint doesn't absorb glass cleaner the way paper towels do, it doesn't smear the stuff all over. It's a great, and VERY cheap way to clean your windows.

Lancer is correct. Cheap advertising flyers and such don't work as well. They tend to leave some debris. Make sure you use a daily newspaper (a broadsheet).

Hmm, is this safe for after-market window tint? I'd be afraid it would scratch the tint film stuff. And the only good window cleaner I have is Windex... with Ammonia, which the window tint place told me will destroy the tint.
So, if I find a ammonia free window cleaner and a good newspaper is this gonna fcuk up my tint? or is it safe?
