Ok...I have two drivers in front of me both 20 watts, same size magnets...they basically look the same except one is 4 ohms and the other is 8 ohms. What the heck determines the ohms in drivers? Voice coil? AND can they be used together on the same stereo without any problems?

I have an amp that has connections for A and B speakers. Can I use 8 ohms on the A and 4 ohms on the B connection without blowing something.

I tried too figure this out on the intraweb but it was all jibber-jabber to me. Electronically dysfunctional you see.

By the way, the drivers I would be using would be much more than 20 watts and the amp is vintage 70's.

I love vintage.

I would not put them together in the same stereo; you may have a differentila in sound pressure; the resistance in speakers will make the 4 ohms much louder than the 8.

I am no specialist, but my interest in HiFi leads me to this conclusion. Others may be better at explaining why (or correct me).
