No, this isn't a poll.

Just curious what type of degree everyone has around here and what occupation they currently have. I have read that a lot of people eventually go into fields which have no relation to what major they have achieved.

Here's mine:

B.S. Computer Engineering, UC Irvine December 2004
B.S. Electrical Engineering, UC Irvine December 2004

I'm working on my M.S. in Electrical Engineering at UCI right now and I work in an engineering field.

msc in ecology, massey university, 2002

now working in market access and research management (which is pretty much entirely unrelated).

B.A. Philosophy U of WA
M.A. English University of Iowa

I always thought that I'd be a teacher or prof and in fact discovered that though I love learning, I did not particularly care for teaching and I am not working in the career field that I envisioned.

But, I'm happy with what I do.

I might work on a Ph.D. in a few years when I have the inclination. Then again, maybe not.

2 year Mechanical Drafting/Graphics community college degree. I hate drafting now.

Two Skilled Trades Jorneyman's cards.
1. Experimental Engineering Test Mechanic/Technician.
2. Machine Repairman/Machinist.

I am currently a Machine Repair/Machinist.

I wish I had a degree. I have one semester left for my bachelor's in 2nd Education in Wood Engineering and Automotive Engineering. I am too busy to finish it and live to far away from the university to complete the semester. Someday.

B. Sc. Marine biology/oceanography.

I graduate at the end of the year, or halfway through next, if all goes according to plan. After that I'll work for a while, then go into research, get my Ph. D's, etc. I've finished all the important bits, just need to fill in some electives to graduate.

The topic was Sex-Role Self-Perception and Sexual Satisfaction in Heterosexual Dyads with Young Adults Sample. (unpublished).

I hypothesized that from a measure of Sex-Role (with the Bem Sex-Role Inventory, a classic), men would tend to perceive themselves as more masculine and female as more feminine during sexual intercourse, whatever their self-perception before would be. That little research showed that actually, both male and female participant (age 18 to 25) perceived themselves as more feminine. Not gay, feminine; as in "I identify myself to people living such and such characteristics I usually attribute to female", or if you prefer, mnore caring, emotional, etc...

That was fun.

M.S.E.E. Carnegie Mellon

My resume says I design digital IC chips. But I'm seriously thinking of doing something different. While this job is pretty interesting, the whole Corporate Drone thing is starting to get to me. The thing is, of course, with a young kid at home, I can't just decide to go back to school and reinvent myself.

Then again, it seems like every few years I get disenchanted with my job, and look around for something totally different. It's like I'm playing "what do I want to do when I grow up", which is odd for someone seven years out of college. Then I get assigned to a new project, and all is right with the world again....

I have a BS Electircal Engineering. However, my past work experience has been in web development, ASP, SQL, and Java. I got burnt out doing than and I am currently working as an IT systems administrator. I have been thinking about going back to school to study industrial design.

None.
Got three weeks into a degree course (music technology) and they asked me to join the faculty (which I did). Couldn't remain on the course due to conflict of interest.

And I teach traditional / digital photo and digital media (Ps.Ill.InD and GoL) at several Universities.
