Nooo, not those geeky little devices. I'm talking about "public display of affection".
Who here is for it, who against it? Do you yourself engage in it? How far have you gone?
Discuss.

People who engage in such behavior ought to be punched in the nuts and/or head.

Partial Differential Equations? Oh, `a', not `e'.

Wow, that's a pretty interesting, albeit not very surprising, reaction. Care to elaborate?

On punching technique?
Seriously, it's just annoying. If you want to express your personal feelings, go somewhere personal. I don't want them foisted on me. I also don't like baseball fans who run up to me and tell me I'm a fag if I don't like the Padres.

i don't mind it too much so long as there's no nekkidity involved and it doesn't impede traffic. living in sicily for several years conditioned me to be less aware of such things stateside due to the different social norms.
hey. once you see a woman drag a man from the sand into the sea by his hair and then proceed to copulate in waist-deep water (at a family beach) you tend to get over lesser things such as kissing, hugging, and holding hands. (not saying this situation is the norm, only that it happened and no one appeared to be too concerned.)
though i think my favorite was the beautiful, tall, african prostitute alongside the strada wearing (partially) an outfit that would make a victoria's secret model blush. her panties were at her ankles and she proceeded to reach down and pull them up without bending her knees. not so much a pda as maybe situation deserving of a psa - please pull over to use the cell phone or watch the umbrella girls. ;-)
be well.

Oh, that's a very good comparison. I mean, really, nothing spells affection like running up to somebody and calling them a "fag".

Yeah, I don't really have anything against it as long as people don't step over a certain line.
Holding hands and kissing is okay, in most situations...but anything more heated should be taken to a hotel room...or a dark corner in a club...or maybe the dancefloor.

They are both ostentatious ways of showing affection. In this case, the affection is for the Padres (which, by the way — I'm supposed to be the one embarrassed in that situation?). There is a proper venue for enthusiastic displays. The line outside a store is not that venue.
Oh, since you brought it up, I'm not including holding hands in this category. I'm thinking more of people who are trying to chew out each other's tonsils in public.

Anything over a little peck is sort of rude.
It just bothers a lot of people, kind of like eating in front of people that don't have food.

It's funny how even this is a taboo in some countries. I never quite understood that.

I think those would be countries that were up until recently very patriarchal, so they're not yet entirely comfortable with the idea of young people dating of their own free will.

In budapest, hungary. I saw this guy fondling this girl underneath her skirt. I was in a bus driving away, they were in middle of the road waiting for tram. She had on red panties. In other countries, PDA's are a fact of every day life.
I don't mind it, we have all been there.
