I ran across this and must admit I have never read a Harry Potter book, I have never seen a Harry Potter film, but I know news!
When I saw this site I knew you would enjoy the lurid speculation.
So, enjoy!

Is Harry Potter Gay?
by emu Nugent
It would be nice to break a story that turned out to be highly prescient, but alas, this one is more likely to be just plain out-of-date wrong, or worse, silly. But, I can’t help telling you anyway. I am fascinated to the point of obsession almost with boys’ secrets, and this one is a goody.
Is Harry Potter doing it with Ron Weasley?1
You might well ask. As I write this, author JK Rowling’s latest Potter book has hit the streets with nothing more salacious rumoured about it than the death of one of its characters.2 Pity, because I’d like to think that having brought Harry Potter and his mates to the edge of puberty Rowling is about to tell us, at last, that Harry is gay. This might even have explained why the book seemed to be interminably still-born. (Let’s blame it on a squeamish publisher.) But... I’m afraid not.
Of course Harry is gay. He grew up in a closet under the stairs; only allowed out to be useful around the house, and certainly never when visitors came. Poor orphaned Harry was destined to go to Stonewall High3 until an invitation from Hogwarts School of Wizardry allowed him to realise his true self — to practice pooffery (or magic then, if you like) — every suburban gay boy’s dream; dispense with your parents I mean, and then run away with the fairies. At school Harry learns to fly, and meets the lovely red-headed Ron Weasley; fairy-boy and tight companion.4 Harry seems doomed to court the clever if manipulative Hermione, but don’t be fooled, his true love is for Ron.

One might suspect Daniel Radcliff of being gay…
But not the Harry Potter Char.

I was going to say, that kind of clinches it. I got the distinct feeling that the new relationships which popped up in this one (particularly L/T, but H/G to a lesser extent) were bolted onto the story for slash-busting purposes. While I can't deny a sense of schadenfreude about this -the slash-fiends must be in mourning- I can't say I approve of the tactic: adding in gratuitous relationships just to prove a character's sexual identity is bad storytelling.

Actually, it seems that straight women make up the overwhelming majority of slash readers and writers, and HP's fandom is no exception. One might predict that straight males make up the smallest minority on both counts, and they'd be correct in this). What's surprising is that gay males make up only a slightly larger minority than straight ones, despite being featured in almost all slash by definition. I suspect that this is why so much slash sucks; it's written by people who (barring major surgery) will never be in those kinds of sexual situations, for people who will never be in those kinds of sexual situations.
I've no clue how any of this works. But I know way too many slash fans to have not learned more than even the community's own members probably ever wanted to know about it.

turtle777: I agree.
Besides, who cares if Harry Potter is gay?
Who sits around and actually thinks or worries about that?
(Apparently a few people do!)

IMHO, would say that no he isn't homosexual. Although it really doesn't matter he's a fictional character.

He's not gay, he's British. Some people confuse the two, for some reason.
Besides, he'll get back with Ginny in the next book. Nobody can resist that saucy redhead.

Eh, it's hardly bait.
WDLove has only ever responded to a comment directed to him about 3 times. He rarely visits threads more than once.
He comes. He sees. He leaves.

I'm a pretty curious guy but I THINK insider references to what might be Potter characters is not likely to sufficiently pique my curiosity to make me actually read H/P. Nice try, if that was what it was, though!

Three personalities is teh pathology!!!
That could be wrong though...
Nevertheless, and unfortunately back on topic, I fail to see how Potter could be gay; he looks preppy enough, but Weasley is obviously hetero. At least from the movies. Potter embodies the real hero, who, as a teenager, is obsessed with his own destiny whilst confronted to an adverse destiny.
Gay people have parties to attend to. Big difference.

Well it bugged me also. As others have mentioned WDlove comes in and makes comments like that and disapears. The other part of the post that bothered me is that he said "It doesn't matter because Potter is fictional" making it sound like if he was not it would be an issue.
