Last wed I went with my buddy Phil to a dyno in Waukesha, right outside Milwaukee. Phil brought his 5spd SVX with 50k engine, stebro muffler, 3 sets of fuel maps on different chips, and 2 different MAFs, a stock subie MAF, and a 300ZX twin turbo maf. Mustang dyno's read kinda low, because depending on how fast you spin the rollers, they increase resistence to simulate air resistence (it uses your cars frontal area and drag coef and stuff). Anyway, first run was 151hp to the wheels at over 100mph. Best was about 160 something.... can't quite remember. Good news is that that is quite a bit of power. Without the air resistence, it was putting down about 190hp to the wheels, and considering AWD saps about 30% of your power, that means he's making about 270hp at the crank... around there somewhere. Might be a bit more.

The really great news is that his car is on it's way to wyotech, where a friend is turbocharging the thing for a senior project. I'll post about it when it's done.

Good story! I'm thinking of slapping some boost on an old golf I have.

The video wasn't too exciting though.

It's hard to make dyno footage exciting unless something blows up. It's meant more to sound nice than anything. It sounds pretty.

Do this search: IceEnclosure dyno

Does this dyno account for your car's inertia as well as wind resistance?

Sucks heavily that the AWD eats 30% of your fuel

I believe so, I'm not entirely sure. Mustang dynos are pretty crazy though, factoring in all sorts of things. You can even get a weather simulator to simulate different temperatures and humidity and airflow on the front of the car. Crazy stuff.
