I got a Call from the United Church of Canada last week. They wanted me to come in to meet with them as they had a job opening for a webmaster and they thought my work on my site was impressive and suited the job.

It confused me as I have worked at a gay magazine for the past 3 years and my portfolio is full of gay content.

I did some research into them and found that the United Church was somewhat gay friendly, perhaps they even see my gay work as a plus.

At any rate I turned down the interview after thinking it over. I am in the process or moving to another job that is more appealing anyway.

I left them a message saying I couldn't make it to the interview today because I got another job. Thought that would be the end of it but they called me back to congratulate me on my new job and thank them for calling to let them know.

So props to the United Church for open-mindedness, equality and friendliness.

Now if only the Catholic Church would return my calls
"That's okay, I'd like to keep it on manual control for a while."

What is even more shocking, that you are shocked people from a church are being nice to you.

Rarely, if ever, do we use doctrinal standards to exclude anyone from the circle of belonging. Rather we lift up Jesus Christ and his way, saying to all who seek God's grace and service, "Come and see."

Nothing wrong with that at all.

I hope you do an excellent job. Maybe post the results when you are done.

Some people are missing the subtle nuances one must employ to make HA!HA!Guy funny. Like so:

Notice the poor use of the English language. Notice the mixing of "cliche phrases" and nonsense. Notice how it's like he's trying to quote someone but doesn't quite get it right...
"Everything's so clear to me now: I'm the keeper of the cheese and you're the lemon merchant. Get it? And he knows it.
That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

Exactly. The best one I done follows those rules without me even realizing it.

The "Cooties" one, and the "Pussy Control"

I even cracked myself up on those two.
