One of my best friends is in Japan teaching English (who's incidentally enaged to another one of my friends in japan), and anyway, a good friend of his is now missing.

Find Andy

I paypal'd $5 or so. It's kinda scary. He wasn't happy or depressed, Kelly describes him as one of the happiest people she knows. He's been missing since Monday. Doesn't really make much sense. He was with this girl, and they decided to split up.... she wanted to go shopping, he wanted to go to a national park. Read the website for more information.

Ok, I see where this is going...

So why the heck is MacNN turning into an obituary lately ?

Where it's going? I don't know man. I don't get what could have happened to him. He was near the ocean somewhere.... not sure of the terrain.

Well, I understand your concern, especially if this was a good friend.
I just don't think the Lounge is the right place. At least, NOT if this is a sensitive issue to you.

Well, I didn't technically know this guy, but he's a friend of a friend... still. Very weird circumstances. Just thought it'd reach a lot of people here, especially since some of them post from Japan. Donations help, I hope. Here's what I know: He wasn't big on photography, so I don't think he was running out on wet rocks to get a good 'shot'. He liked hiking... and he was gay. Anybody know if there's gay-related crime in Japan? Not sure if it has anything to do with it or not, but if a gay friend wound up missing in the south, I'd know I'd be looking hard at the rednecks.

I'm very sorry to hear about Andy. I pray that he will be found to be safe.

Trolls: Please don't turn this into a pray vs hope discussion. Seems like very weird circumstances, it's hard to imagine a scenario in which he'd be okay, or how he dissapeared int eh first place.
