I'm a huge Luc Besson fan, but the first one was almost unwatchable for me. It was like Besson was trying to be John Woo.

I liked the Asian girl, though.

I think the problem was the first one was marketed as an action film, but it was instead a comedy. I mean.. come on... they shoot when he's far away, but when they get close, they keep surrounding him in a circle, then attacking him one at a time..... plus hte lines were SO cheesy. The driving in teh beginning rocked though.

WTF... AN AUDI!?!??!?! Oh man.

That sucks. I'd go see it if it had BMWs in it, not some overpriced VWs.

Yeah, well this thread is about the SEQUEL. Thanks for the input (crap) about the first movie. I enjoyed it as did my wife and it was an Action Flick.

So, you commented in the thread before watching the trailer. Great. Just great.
Don't make this one of your NAZI fscuking rant threads about how you think Audi Sucks now.

I thought the first one really tanked and got bad review so I am surprised they made a second one.

Think Budster is going to flame you? NOPE!

PS: I liked the first one. It was just silly. You couldn't possibly take it serious unless you were about 8-14 years old.

The trailer so far seems pretty good. Lots of action.

I'm sure I'll be seeing this one, and enjoying the heck out of it like I did the first.

He didn't direct either one.

I know. I didn't say 'direct,' but he did write & produce. Still, didn't seem like one of his movies to me. But then neither did Kiss of the Dragon. I think Milla Jojovich got all his creativity in the divorce.

I'm just disappointed that Cory Yuen isn't directing. He did the action properly, in medium shots, to show that the actors could in fact fight. Compare that to the close-up shaky cam edit fest that was The Bourne Supremacy.

As for Besson, I was wondering what he's been up to since he's taken quite the break from directing to write & produce, and look at this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0344854/ WTF?

You're right, it didn't "feel" like one of his, but maybe that was a good thing?

I know what you mean. Nothing he's done lately matches the action/drama of Leon (AKA The Professional).

That shaky close-up cam completely ruined the Bourne Supremacy for me. I saw a 'making of' on late night TV once, and was amazed at how good the fight scenes (the one with the other agent in his house that eventually gets blown up especially) looked when shown on a camera that was being used to film the behind the scenes stuff. The close-up shakiness left it so you had no idea what was going on, whereas the fight sequences were actually incredibly well choreographed and executed.

I thought the Transporter was ok. Think I watched it once and it killed 90 mins .

Agreed. "The Transporter" was a horrible copy of "The Big Hit," only it wasn't funny and it sucked.

"Snatch," on the other hand, was brilliant.

oh... CAKE or something like that. Not the same director, but someone who was involved... I forget who. I wanted to see that.
