I bought a 20" iMac G5 Rev. A last year (September 2004) and obviously that I have one month left to buy extended 3 year plan of Applecare.

I have found 3 different sites where I'm not sure which one I should buy one from:

1) $169.99 from Apple.com/applecare

2) $110. from L.A. Computer Company

3) eBay.com- Cheap $$ Applecare (BRAND NEW)

Should I go for eBay or L.A. Computer Company? Any Advices?

One more question:

I bought 20" iMac G5 last year, September 16, 2004. So, my current 1 year Applecare warranty covers until September 16, 2005 or September 1, 2005?

I have to buy Applecare 3 extended years before which date? and what do I do when I receive 3 year applecare box in my hands? Call Apple? I'm new with the Applecare issue.

Thanks.

Apple's factory warranty lasts 365 days from the date of purchase, if you buy from the Apple Store, they index your serial number to the day you bought the computer. Sometimes it will show up a few days later though. Go to http://www.apple.com/support/ and enter your serial number to see what date they have on file.

You need to register applecare before your factory warranty expires.

You can fill out the paper work that comes in the box and mail it to Apple, or better yet, go online and register applecare with the warranty number that comes in the box.

Apple will then send you a proof of warranty page, if you need to make a claim, you will need this page and your receipt from were you bought it.

I'm sure if the number inside the box has never been registered, then you're fine.

L.A. computer is very reputable, they have a retail store you could walk in so if you have had any trouble with them, I would personally go there and raise hell.
