Katrina, 75+MPH is cruising through right now. Gusting in my area over 50MPH, and the E-SE eye wall of the storm is going to cruise up my street in the next few hours..

Fantastic!

I've got beer, couple of friends here, and the green stuff.. and (as of right now) cable/internet/power.

my friend sold me a Sony P150 7MP pocket rocket... for $50

it blows. there's lots of info on dpreview.com about its problem with FOCUSING. (P200 fixes the problem)

Ideally, using it in manual mode constantly changing the settings (on this horrid Sony menu setup) is the best way to get pics.

I won't be doing that in a hurricane.

It's blustery just north of you (Delray) and I'll have fun picking up the tree-bits from the yard tomorrow, but this is nowhere near as wacked as Frances & Jeanne were last summer.

Hopefully it'll make a sharp left and douse South Beach in honor of the MTV VMAs

The thing made a hard left just off the coast of Ft.Lauderdale and carved it's way through south Broward & a lot of Dade county - really wacky track. Right now there's like 1.3 million people without power between those two. Palm Beach got off easy this time (a welcome break after last summer's fun).

bad news for Ice: the air-handler took a crap on my air-conditioning. I even switched it off before the storm hit, and waited till the power was all on until I switched on the a/c.

90+ degrees for the past few days. I could give a sh!t about *light*, I want a/c.

Glad I'm alive.. sucks bad for the gulf-coasters.

Looks like the whole coast is in for much of the same.... (90-95 this week, no a/c)
