The person who posted the song inspired me to start this thread. Not necessarily have to link the MP3 for DL, just list the song title and band. I'm curious what ppl are listenting to. I'm a classic rock/heavy metal guy myself, but I have been expanding my horizons (actually, since the whole Napster thing back in the day). My tastes now are quite eclectic.

(This may be hard, there's a whole lot of tunes out there, just see if you can pick your top 3 currently).

1) I just recently converted my Everlast CD to MP3, and I just revisited "What it's Like". It's now my new current fave (again).

2) Metallica "Fade to Black" (off Ride the Lightning for those that don't remember) will forever remain in my personal top 3.
Metallica is a tight band, I give them credit for making it through the new alternative revolution. But I stopped liking there stuff after the Black album. (ha! I said "album")

3) ****, this is hard. Too much. New or old, that is the question. Audioslave, Dido, Coldplay ... Nervanna! Staind, Nickleback, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Creed.. ****!
OK, OK. Beck - "Girl" (great summer tune! definitely some Beach Boy influence)

No offense to the classics!! (Zepplin, Doors, Floyd, Sabbath, etc.

This was hard, I broke a sweat!

There is nothing like firing up a little "We Built This City" with an ice cold Arizona Grapeade after a long day of work...

But nothing, nothing gets it rocking like ACDC
Has to be the all time Hard Rock band of all time (with VH trailing at a close 2nd).

Add a couple of Brews and you have an instant party (even with just one person)

Right now it's:

- Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
- Scuttle Buttin' - SRV
- 6 Etudes D'Execution Transcendante D'Apres Paganini - Yundi Li*

*I have a very special place in my heart for this song. The first time I heard it, it made me cry like a baby. It immediately reminded me of my brother's fight with Muscular Dystrophy. The two main voices in this song represent the various battles he fought in and out of the hospital, and of course himself.... if you listen to this song and when you finally reach the finale, where he actually begins to understand he is going to die, and the two voices are more in sync... how can one not help but cry.

If there were ever a song more representative of this, I have not heard it.

Sorry, no mullet That being said, Starship had some amazingly forward thinking material during their alt-progressive phase that was released on 8 track only. It was a nightmare getting the collection from 8 track to my iBook.
