I can post 100s of pictures of them if you'd like...they're everywhere where I live!

We take them for granted - their unique wonderfulness - so thank you for the thread.

Next week I'm going down to the South Carolina coast. These little guys are everywhere down there. I love 'em. Thanks for the early taste of the tropics.

I dunno, I like the originals. They seem more warm and natural. The increased white levels make it look like a magazine photograph (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but they lose their emotion a bit, if that makes any sense.

Edit: I'm not, btw, necessarily against image editing (as long as it's noted). I tried to amplify some of the things I liked about the original photo, although I went a little overboard with the yellow:

There's waaaaaaaaay too much contrast in that close-up of the little sleeping anole no matter how you slice it. The detail is totally lost.

They're everywhere down here in South Georgia.

We used to keep them as pets and they hang out by your flood lights to eat the insects that are attracted by them.
They will eat until they can't move.

I see them daily crawling up any one of the window screens.

When I was a kid we lived on Guam for a couple years. We had chameleons
and geckos. The geckos were everywhere, and you could see theu them
when they got on lampshades - used to freak my Mom out so bad she
got a boonie cat to keep the geckos down in the house.

Here in Southern Japan I was surprised to find a number of crazy little things running around. Several other new English teachers have reported spotting small lizards in their house. I'd rather have lizards then roaches, which are everywhere. Sighhhh...

The anoles and gekos we had in Panama took care of the roaches. We never saw any bugs except ants.
