So I've set up a machine to logon to our NT Domain. Also used PolEdit to set the registry for network login. Also installed the LDAP extension for authentication. So after doing all that and restarting, the machines still fails to authenticate (says password is wrong or access denied.)

One of the older machiens still works, so it must be something I've forgotten on this new machine.

Hitting cancel or escape just brings up a dialog saying that a network server couldn't validate, so it can't logon.

Is there a way to, say, boot from a floppy and have it set back to Local Machine logon insetad of the network?

Otherwise I'll have to spend 5 hours rebuilding the machine.

Do a search for *.pwl and delete them all.

Edit: Boot to safe mode if you have to. Press F8 when it gets past the bios, before it starts loading Windows.

Hah! Deleting the account cache didn't work, but I ran RegEdit and changed the Network Login Validate value to null and now it'll allow me to cancel the login.

Can't believe I forgot about Safe Mode, thanks.
