In Canada, I've seen 1.20 CAD per litre. That's 3.27 USD per gallon.

I saw a 3.07 for premium at a local Shell here in Berkeley, CA. Costco has the cheapest gas that I've seen at 2.62. Though there's a generic gas station that has regular 87 for 2.54 if you get a car wash, too. The cheapest car wash costs about $10, so not that cheap unless you really need the car wash.

I started keeping track of the gas at the station closest to my house to see if I could notice any trends. So far I have not been successful

I saw $3.30ish driving through the mojave desert back home this weekend and stopped looking at the prices. I needed the gas and didn't care to see how much i was paying. Don't know how much premium was, but the california/arizona border can empty your wallet fast if you don't fill up in one of the cities or towns and stop at a random gas station on its own.

Filled up today in NH at $2.59. I have never paid $20 for half a tank. We'll see how it goes this weekend when I have to go to CT.

BTW, that's the same as it was last week.

Update: Same station - one day later... $2.99

The last time I got gas, about two weeks ago, it was $2.69 a gallon for regular. It's probably gone up since then, I'm sure.

I'd top it off now. My guess is that it won't be cheaper by the time you need to fill-up. 1/2 tank of expensive gas is somewhat offset by the 1/2 tank of cheaper.

Just paid $3.01 here in Monterey, CA for regular.

So is anyone starting to look for alternatives to get around or are you just sucking it up?

Monterey is small enough that I can get around most anywhere by bike or the free trolley. But I work in Salinas (~20 miles away) and there are some hills around here that I don't even think about trying to bike up, so I still end up driving about 50-60% of the time.

You guys remember the good ol' days (6 years ago), when gas was less than $1? Those were good times.

I have to use premium.

Way to work yesterday: $2.69
Way home yesterday: $2.99
Way home today: $3.33

- 64 cents in 2 days. I paid to fill up at a "cheap" place I found on the way home yesterday (still only $2.85 then though they've gone up well north of $3 now as well). I paid via debit card and the pump just stopped at $50 (guess that's the authorized limit when they run a debit card.

On the positive side, premium is still only 18-20 cents more than regular around here ... meaning that relatively speaking, its only about 6% more that regular. When gas was, say $1.40, that same 20 cents amounted to about 14% more. So at least I'm getting my @ss scalded proportionally less than before for using 93 octane.

according to my calculation that's 6,26USD/gallon. With a gallon being 3.8 litres (it's actually 3,785...) and euro to dollar being 1.2234.

Hey, pick one. It's either a decimal or a comma... you're confusing your Euro & American audiences.

Hehe, lol. That's because I copied the 1,2234 and 3,8 off of google.

Of course it's supposed to be comma since the period is used as a multplication sign is mathematics.
