I didn't find anything new in it, expecept the 512 MB and 1 GB. And even that was sort of given with Apple's announcement of the 1,000 songs...

512Mb or 1Gb isnt 1000 songs, its about 120/240, like a shuffle. 4 or 5Gb is 1000 songs.

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

he (steve) didn't stand on a stage, wearing his black turtleneck shirt and announcing the
"THE NEW AND IMPROVE IPOD PHONE versus the old and lousy ipod"

rather, Motorola chief executive Edward J. Zander announced it. that's what I mean by stealing his thunder.

The iTunes phone is a Moto product with Apple software on it, I think the '1000 songs...' announcement is for an Apple product, maybe a 4Gb shuffle, flash based mini or video iPod (1000 songs > 1000 videos).

Video iPod is dumb.

I think a FirmWare update for all the iPods to support more digital cameras through the camera adpater would be better.

The handsets will reportedly be the first in a series called "Rokr"....
jeez! - what marketing genius came up wi that one?!

i'd not mind having a phone that ran some kind of apple designed OS - the atrocious quality of most mobile phone OSes is a personal bugbear of mine, but i really don't see the point of this "let's bung an FM radio in it... and a camera... and an MP3 player" compulsion. just make a feckin' phone which works properly and has some kind of GUI that disnae make DOS look advanced & user friendly, fer feck's sake!

having said that, i'm sure it'll go down a storm with the "yoof" market.

You know, anything Apple makes will sell like hot cakes. Really nice hot cakes, that melt in your mouth, not in your hand. While a video iPod would be nice it would probably be super expensive. I can totally see the Shuffle getting a bump in storage.

I really hope the camera adaptor gets an upgrade. I`m thinking of getting a new iPod next Spring and a new Camera, so the combination would be really nice to have on long trips.

Seeing as how Apple is hyping this event to be as significant as the original iPod unveiling....

im going to go out on a limb and say. The 'one more thing...' is going to be the video iPod. I suspect the interface is going to be a little different as well. imagine the whole face of the iPod as a screen, and for music, the bottom half displays a click wheel. click on the buttons similar to the NDS touch screen or the mighty-mouse. When playing videos...the whole face displays the video, and touching the screen bring up controls similar to the QT-full screen controls.

All just speculation on my part....but i strongly suspect that the video iPod is here.we got Photos last year. And the PSP and other devices are out that support video. This is going to be Apple's answer to those products.

Cheers

iTunes Phone will be a UI nightmare for the user. Unless they find some way of putting the scroll wheel on there.
