i thought we'd seen the back of it, after i complained last time it was polluting this place, but it's back!
seriously folks - i know macNN has to earn revenue from advertising, but this bastard really does my feckin' head in!
1 - it's a bloody windows ad!
2 - we're not allowed to use animations in our sigs or posts, so why are they allowed to inflict this jerking about POS on *us*. it actually hurts my eyes to look at it!
3 - i seriously think something like that could trigger off an epileptic fit in someone who had that "flickering light" sensitivity [in fact i almost hope it does, so someone sues someone else's sorry arse and i never have to see that feckin' ad on here again!]
i'm sure about a year or two ago someone complained about another banner ad that was on here all the time and it got pulled - i can't remember why - but i seem to recall that it was revealed at the time that macNN have a set of guidelines for advertisers. if so, then surely, amongst them should be one stating "animations should not flicker on and off at just the right frequency to induce physical symptoms of nausea and/or epileptic attacks in the viewer"

This belongs in Feedback. And we have repeatedly pointed out that MacNN has NO control over what the advertisers put in their purchased space. Consider how unintelligent it is to put stupid Windows-oriented ads in a Mac-oriented page. Yeah, we know, but we do NOT control what they stick there. Ignore the ads, use an ad blocker (Safari's pretty good at it, as is Firefox) or just put up with them, but don't think WE are in any way responsible for them.
