I like a lot Mandy Moore and some her songs, namely from the Walk to remember, such as Only Hope, Someday to Remember. I remember she is blonde and used to sing incredibly bad songs like Candy but the movie and dark hair for a character in the Walk to Remember really made her beautiful.. and it seems that the movie has changed her from from a blonde Britney Spears-clone into a beautiful brunette, with a very pure image, and she matured into a good singer and wonderful actress.

A "beautiful", "pure" brunette that wears a cake of makeup and can't notice that her panties are showing through the dress? I'd take Lindsey Lohan instead.
If she's good enough for Steve Jobs (she was showcased in some MacWorld), she's good enough for us. Is that our metric now?

I really like Mandy Moore these days. I'm convinced she's the smartest person in that business. And she seems to have stayed relatively normal over the years, too. (She even has a Flickr  .)

Do people like her (and Britney, and the like) actually write their own songs? If not, I wish people wouldn't put them up on musical pedestals and pay them huge gobs of money to sing just because they are attractive. There are hundreds, if not thousands of fantastic non-supermodel-attractive singers out there not working now.
