I was working all night long and watching TVLand television. Saw Little House on the Prairie, I Dream of Jeannie, and when I flipped television on this morning, Bewitched is on.

Aren't those old television shows great? I'm trying to figure out which one is my favorite and I cannot pick one. I think it's I Dream of Jeannie, because it was a funny show, despite being campy. I also love the original Star Trek series.

Anyone else?

"Western von gestern"

The "older" german members here might know what I am talking about (they didn't show it for the past 20 years I think - which I don't understand)!

edit: I was quite correct - last show was 1986!

I Dream of Jeannie - She was haut.

Happy Days - Ehhhhhhhhhhh.

Andy Griffith / Mayberry M.F.D.

Mr. Ed (When nothing else was on, for background) Weird show.

Creature Feature - Actually gave me nightmares as a kid

Night Stalker - Awesome

Dr. Who - Fabulous, love the scarf.

Kohlshack - Very cool.

Star Trek - When the captain wasn't a wussy.

Rifleman - I know I'm skipping all over the place in the timeline here but I'm just winging it.

Rawhide! - Come on, it was cool.

Get Smart - Teh best comedy

The Monkees - Hey it was like batman but not gay, well not as gay

Banana Splits - Mmm that go-go dancer... ok I was a kid then!

Dragnet - Meh, not bad

There was also a Fireman show, Engine 51 or something like that. Was ok.

Marcus Welby MD - He was the shizzle man! Pre-Quincy baby.

Quincy - Not that old but, still worthy. Jack Clugman, so sad. He was a crazy lefty but I still like him.

The Dick Van Dyke Show, hands down!
"Everything's so clear to me now: I'm the keeper of the cheese and you're the lemon merchant. Get it? And he knows it.
That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

Ohhhhhh Rob!!!!!

Damn straight, The DVD show was hilarious.

Maury Amsterdamn cracked me up. He was awesome, don't recall his character's name.

What a great formula they had. The episode with the wallnuts freaked me out though.

Morey Amsterdam (though he should have spelled it "Maury" like I do) played Buddy Sorrell.

The Tonight Show was THE show to watch back then with Johny Carson. What a great guy. I remember watching the story about his life and how shy he was. He would NEVER make any of his guests feel uncomfortable. It was his rule.

He was the best talk-show host. Bar none.

All of his shows are archived in Vegas somewhere deep underground to preserve them.

Have you guys seen Craig Ferguson? He replaced Craig Kilbourne on the The Late Late Night Show and he is EXTREMELY funny.

Read about him!

Here is his site.

The only thing I don't like about him is that he looks EXACTLY like this guy I used to be involved with (we eloped to the Virgin Islands one weekend and then we got an annullment when we got back - I should blog that story because it was a wild and fun weekend) who was also from Scotland. Wait! Maybe it was Craig Ferguson? No, just kidding! (I really liked that guy, but he was bi-polar and kept talking about how much better Scotland was than the United States...maybe he's back there now. )

These are classic now, right?

Starsky and Hutch.
Charlie's Angels (original series, not those horrendous films).
Grizzly Adams.
Last Of The Mohicans (original B/W series).
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.

Not sure how old they need to be but...

Magnum PI
Emergency!
CHiPs
Taxi
Night Court
Battlestar Galactica
Bosom Buddies
Newhart
Coach
Tales of the gold Monkey

Oh - I also have been getting into SWAT on Comcast OnDemand. Evidence that violence has always been on TV. Perhaps the FX is just better these days.

It was called "Emergency" and was yet another of Jack Webb's programs. There was significant crossover between Emergency and Adam-12, and please note that both Randy Mantooth (Emergency) and Kent McCord (Adam-12) were "Tiger Beat" fodder for YEARS. Picture it now-Can you see a current day cop show star as a teen heartthrob?

I think we did this whole "old TV show" thing a month or two back, but I still go with most of what people have suggested. I also have to say that I think there's a slight chance that WKRP could go on DVD, since all you heard was segments of songs. I can hope, anyway, since that was a marvelous show.
