LOL it has little to do with the enviroment and more to do with saving money. And most of the hotels here are eco friendly now not just a few.

Hotels in the United States - at least those in California - adopted the optional sheet cleaning strategy long ago.

It doesn't matter what their motivation is, as long as it helps.

I'm a bird. I am the 1% (of pets).

I've seen this in many hotels all around the world. Don't think it's anything new.

Besides, it's more for the hotel to save money than it is for ecological reasons. Still, any little bit helps I guess.

Victoria hotels have had it going on for oh 5 years now. I was a little surprised by the article acting if it was new and rare, most of the hotels here do it, and for a long time, and like Randman said around the world.

I've noticed the sheet thing for at least 8 years, even in cheap places. Makes perfect sense.

However, I've also noticed that sometimes when you follow the rules (hanging up your towels if you want to keep them) they're still replaced by zealous staff.
