Steve Jobs has Pixar making movies for Disney left and right and what does Disney do for online sites for kids? Discriminates against them.
Disney online sites do not support Mac.
Disney sucks, Eisner sucks, and I can't wait for their evil little empire to fall for good. Look at how they have their little cartoon bastards wave good-bye to little Mac users.

I've never seen my kids at that particular page, but they browse Disney a bit from time to time.

This proves one thing and one thing only: Both consumers and developers are leaving the Mac platform. If you *still* don't see the truth of the matter after reading this news (which, by the way, was featured right here on your web site) I don't know what else will.

My daughter loves Disney Blast. It's a bucket full of disney based flash games and activities... unfortunately it seems that at least a third of them give the "This game is not available for Macintosh computers" Yay. Good thing there is an annual fee for the idiot thing, and thank the sweet baby jesus that there is no mention of a third of the freaking games being Mac incompatible (At least no mention that i saw... I didn't really investigate too much because I didn't sign up for it. my wife did that part). But, the games and activities my daughter absolutely loves are Mac compatible, so, for all my outrage, I'm stuck with it. It makes her happy and that's the big thing.
But doesn't stop me from thinking that Disney sucks.

Yeah. Especially when they've used Apple for their movies.
I'll never visit another Disney theme park or buy any of their Disney-branded products.
Disney sucks.

Using IE 6.0 on a computer at work running Win2000 and I get a:
This browser is not supported by Disney's Toontown Online. Disney's Toontown Online requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or higher, running on a Windows PC.
Yup, Disney is filled with fools.

Leaving that Mac? perhaps they just havent gotten Mac support for it yet. My old bank took 2 years to develope its Mac client software after its windows client software. That don't mean they where leaving the Mac platform, it just ment it was later on there list of things.

Thats because cody sent you directly to the test page over the page you actually start at which is here http://play.toontown.com/webHome.php click on start. It offers you a choice to install some stuff, if you dont your browser fails the test.

http://www.toontown.com = http://play.toontown.com/webHome.php
Pixar is no longer obligated contractually to do any movies for Disney I think. Eisner screwed up that relationship with Jobs / Apple's Pixar. Disney is a second rate, agenda ridden, flatulent beast of a company with a monkey running it.

It's really sad that you think my experience would be the same as yours and you assume what I did.
Do you have Win2000 with IE 6 on it? Are you behind a firewall you have no control over? Why should I install anything to make something work in a web page? That doesn't sound like HTML standards to me. It sounds like IE standards. Oh, that's right, you aren't a Mac user you're a Windows fan. Maybe it's because you're the intended market for Duhsney.

It's not that hard to develop a freaking web page that complies to W3C standards, oh wait, I forgot they are using a tool (IE) that doesn't comply to begin with. They don't have to develop for Mac later if they wanted to.
This is just another jab at Jobs and Apple's Pixar because of the disagreement they had.. ending their relationship. It's sick how such a person can be allowed to run Disney.

I have four Macs in my house. My PowerBook cannot pull up their Toontown crap. My son's eMac cannot pull up Toontown crap. My other son's iBook cannot pull it up and neither did our iMac.
It just doesn't come up.

It's the site's use of ActiveX that stops us Mac users (see my previous post). You can try any Mac you want but you'll need ActiveX support and therefore Windows and IE.

That image of obnoxious animals waving "good-bye" to me pissed me off so much that I decided to give them a piece of my mind...
You guys have an incompetent web developer. This person is either a pretentious asshole or does not know how to design a website that supports modern standards and modern web browsers. Because your site uses ActiveX for some obscure reason, all browsers other than Microsoft's insecure IE do not work. In addition to that, even Micro$oft's browser won't work if you have ActiveX disabled (as it should be, because most spyware and security vulnerabilities come from this). I would recommend firing the guy you currently have working for you and hiring someone who knows what they're doing. It's really sad that your little toon site won't be able to delight the children of intelligent parents.

So don't support Disney. Send your money elsewhere. Disney is the Microsoft of entertainment companies.

It uses ActiveX. I used FireFox with the user agent set to MSIE 6 on Win XP. Gave me an error saying it couldn't load the ActiveX controller.

With a company as big as Disney, I doubt that the way their website works it's up to the designer. Most likely, this is some deal Disney and Microsoft worked out. So, hate on Disney, but not for hating Macs, but instead for trying to make more money.

well you said it yourself, you refuse to install the active X control which means your browser is unsuported by choice. And I am a Mac user, ive been a Mac user since 1994 when I first fell in love with a Plus.

No you have to use IE on Windows, its a activex control which installs some dll's on your computer to play the game.

just a side note the ActiveX is used to install a PC application, the game is a .exe not a flash game and it uses close around 60MB of hard drive space to install. This is not a browser game its regular x86 windows software that installs via the web browser.

It is not HTML standards compliant. What will it take you to understand that?

well, i wouldn't stress about this, active x is evil, but flash isn't exacty standards complient either - i would call it 'less evil' since at least its cross platform. heck widgets are just web pages for tiger only that have their own proprietary tags - so one might call them slightly evil as well (i know i wrote one).
but yeah the duck waving at ya is like - sorry we are all happy here in windows ie land. sucks to be you...
