So it's out in Japan. Anyone see it yet? There are fansubs out there which aren't too bad.
Overall, I really liked it. A bit exostential in places, but that's expected from this. Also, people seem to be hard as a rock in this movie.
US Release is Nov. 7th.
Thoughts?

My wife and I watched it raw last week. No fansubs were out yet, but she knows enough Japanese to be able to puzzle out some of the meaning in the dialogue. Frankly, though, I'm not sure that the dialogue was the point of the movie. FFAC rocks hard and heavily even without it, and especially for fans of the original game. And the cell phone... my God, the cell phone...
Definitely getting this on DVD in November.

Like The Spirits Within? Yes, it's completely computer animated. Personally, I think I'm the only one that liked TSW. In any case, it's really for FF VII fans. If you never played FF VII, it'll just be eye candy to you.

I liked TSW. I mean it wasn't the greatest movie ever nor was it the best thing ever to be branded Final Fantasy, but I thought it was pretty good nonetheless.
I'll be picking this up in November.

OMG the graphics were INSANE .. loved it. now give me this on any next gen system instead of the pixelated playstation mess, and i'll be all over it!

I loved how they used attacks directly from the game. They even had limit breakers!

Here's what I plan on doing with it - rip the DVD to my hard drive, and then once the DVD comes out in the US, merge the English sub with it. I'm sure I can do it.
