I've heard nothing but good things on the iSkin products.

having had one of the iSkin kypad covers all I can say is: THEY FAIL.

They still build up grease and dirt, and thus leave marks on the screen- exactly what you want them to stop doing.

Sure you could try washing them, but after a while, when they get worn, they look like crap.

I would recommend something like this: http://www.radtech.us/Products/NotebookScreensavrz.aspx

Works much better at protecting the screen. That is, if it needs protecting since the albooks aren't as bad as the tibooks.

They even offer custom graphics now!

I had one of these and loved it... until I left it on the plane while traveling.

I have an iSkin. It collects dust like nothing else. I'd really rather carry the laptop w/o it on, but I don't want to get marks on the screen.

I think Apple just needs to design more clearance between the pb's keyboard and the lcd.

can you actually still type with the cover on? My main concern is the computer getting too hot.

Yes, you can type. I don't like the way it feels, though. Kinda defeats the purpose of the pb's great keyboard.

um, you did link to page with 4 powerbooks.

But yeah you can type with it, it just becomes a recepticle for your hands' grease and dirt, as well as doing a fine job of collecting crumbs and lint.

I use the iSkin ProTouch on my Pro keyboard. It's alright. I thought about getting the iSkin for my iBook, but later decided not to.

Well.. OWC sells similar stuff for covering notebook keyboards.

I work in construction and do not use a cover for the keyboard, my powerbook is always covered in dust and grime, I have no marks or scratches on my screen.
I even took the powerbook on safari in the Serengeti Tanzania last week, drove 1,200 km on dusty and very rough roads, and had no problems.
I have had the powerbook for 14 months and it is great.
